This article opened my eyes and made me realize that whites are now a minority in 10% of countries. The idea of a culture shock was presented in this article, which I find to be very true. I find it amazing how much our country has evolved over the years; however, I hope a balance among different races remains. This article is interesting because it shows the white man’s perspective and how they are starting to feel threatened in this world.

This article is titled; Miley Cyrus, America's billion-dollar girl sensation. I find it unbelievable how popular this fifteen year old girl has become. Not only is she popular among younger teens, she is also famous among older generations. However, this article mentions that this popularity could be a bad thing. She might be headed in the same direction of Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan. This article was interesting but I don’t think anyone should put that type of stigma on a young aspiring actress.

I found this article to be very interesting because I always thought Polar Bears were the most endangered species due to the effects of global warming. This article proved me wrong and discussed an animal I have never heard of: Narwals. The Narwhal is a whale with a long spiral trusk and is ranked as the most vulnerable in a climate change risk analysis of Arctic marine mammals.

Hundreds flee wildfire burning in foothills near LA

This article is titled; Hundreds flee wildfire burning in foothills near Los Angeles. I found it amazing how firefighters handled this situation. They had to use helicopters and water-dropping air tankers to put the fire out. Furthermore, a fixed-wing water tanker also made at least one drop of flame retardant. This fire took up to 5 days to completely diminish and hundreds of families were evacuated from their homes.

However, this article shows her provocative pictures in Vanity Fair. I find it astonishing that she is already making a seven-figure contract.

This article is titled, Did Dinosaurs Die Because They Weren't Fat Enough? After reading the headline, I immediately laughed. However, this article did actually make some factual arguments. This article mentions that birds, unlike mammals, lack a tissue that is specialized to generate heat. A team of researchers writes that the same lack of heat-generating tissue may have contributed to the extinction of dinosaurs. I have always wondered why dinosaurs went extinct so this article was interesting to me.

This article is titled, Ohio public school teacher ordered to remove Bible from classroom desk. This article is very controversial but can offend many people who have strong religious beliefs. The fact that a school told a teacher to hide his bible from students raises a lot of questions. One question the article asked was, "Does a teacher forfeit all of his constitutional rights, all of his God-given rights, when he becomes a school teacher?" I think this article brings up a lot of good points.

This article is titled, Gas Prices Too High? It's Time to Pray. I found this headline to be very humorous. This article mentions the fact that Americans can no longer rely on politicians to bring gasoline prices down. People are now looking to God to deliver us from these high gas prices. Considering the fact that these high gas prices are affecting many American families, I think people are losing hope in our government. People are at the point where they don’t know what to do. Although, I found this article to be humorous, I was unsure of the author’s underlying tone.

This article is titled, Cola May Be Bad to the Bones. Recent studies show that enjoying a daily coke or two may have significant impacts on a person’s bone health. This article mentions many explanations, which I found to be very interesting. First, people who drink colas do not get enough calcium in their diets because the soda is replacing other drinks, such as milk. Furthermore, caffeine has been linked to a higher risk of osteoporosis.

Newborn baby born with two faces

This article is titled; Newborn baby born with two faces. I found this article to be absolutely mind-boggling. It discusses a month-old girl who suffers from what appears to be craniofacial duplication, an extremely rare congenital disorder in which part of the face is duplicated on the head. I found it interesting that many people in the families neighborhood has claimed the baby to have a god-like status in the village. Many neighbors are flocking to the newborns home to worship her and give their blessings.
